In late 2017, the Colorado Attorney General's Office contracted with Health Management Associates to lead efforts to better understand factors related to youth suicide in four Colorado counties with high youth suicide rates, including recent suicide clusters. The pproject included secondary data analysis, media analysis, key informant interviews, and focus groups with youth and adults. The study’s goal was to identify commonalities across/within counties of risk factors, protective factors and suicide prevention needs to inform suicide prevention.
