This workshop will begin building consensus on the core public health capabilities and services on which Colorado's governmental public health system must be built. Through facilitated discussion, participants will prioritize the capabilities and services that every Colorado governmental public health agency must have to create a more equitable public health system and meet its charge of protecting the public's health.

The continual erosion of resources that support our basic public health infrastructure has significant consequences on the state's and our communities responsiveness to and recovery from public health threats. To ensure that every Local Public Health Agency has the infrastructure and capability to deliver public health services in a competent, effective and efficient manner, and that every resident of Colorado has the same opportunity to access these services the governmental public health system must receive reliable and predictable financial support. To secure this funding, we must first determine the right public health capabilities and services that best meet the needs of Colorado’s communities.
